Meditation rooms are one of the hottest new work perks. Corporate meditation has become highly promoted, and the why is important, as reflected in these statistics from the Chopra Foundation:
- 91 percent reported it positively impacted the culture
- 88 percent would recommend it to a coworker
- 66 percent said they felt less stress or had improved stress-management capabilities
- 63 percent are better able to manage themselves at work
- 60 percent reported increased focus and better decision-making skills
- 52 percent are able to better manage work relationships
- 46 percent reported increased innovation and creativity.
with companies finding that meditation can lower stress levels in a demanding work environment and lead to happier, more engaged employees. High stress work environments such as law enforcement and hospital emergency and trauma centers report similar results.
I offer weekly talks and instruction on meditation at the Blue Heron Stillness Studio in Adams, MA, and conduct seminars on the subject, most recently for HospiceCare in The Berkshires, in Pittsfield, MA. I?ve been invited to offer a second seminar for HospiceCare in the early spring for those who were unable to attend the first.
I am available for and am actively seeking engagements with businesses, civic groups, social organizations, law enforcement organizations, health care facilities and other high stress work environments who are interested in learning more about the benefits of meditation.
At the Five Immortals Temple, in Hubei Province, China, where I train, we sit still, doing nothing each night as an integral part of cultivating stillness. It is also a part of my daily practice away from the Temple, along with Qigong and Taiji, both of which I teach at the Blue Heron Stillness Studio. I returned to the US in early 2019 from a visit to the Laojun Temple in Chongqing, China, with a renewed enthusiasm for teaching.
If you wish to book a seminar or speaking engagement on the subject of meditation and how it can help your business or group, please contact me. Speaking engagement fees for a 60-90 minute presentation are reasonable, and all of the proceeds go to support the continued teaching of meditation.
